Sukara, Korean Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurant (Part 1)

This restaurant called Sukara is not only for vegetarians but also for vegans because
this place does not use butter or eggs to make their food.
But since there's no rush, I'll show you guys their interior first just to tease you!! :)

Pretty unique door color, eh?
I think it's turquoise...

Their interior's calm and spacious.
It was amazing how people were energetic but not loud in that place.
Good way to keep the atmosphere cool.

It's also cozy in this place, too.
I meant cozy atmosphere-wise, not temperature-wise.

... and it's also like a casual cafe.
One cafe, multiple atmosphere?
That's got to count as a talent!

Here's their introduction and drink menu:
As if being a healthy vegetarian/vegan restaurant isn't enough,
this place uses organic vegetables as well!

Now, here comes our next blog about their food...
Get excited!!!

Old Style Korean Restaurant: Gomjung Gomushin

This is Gomjung Gomushin.
This means black Korean traditional rubber shoes.

Just like its name,
this place looks pretty old style Korean.
They did have some Western modification like chairs and tables,
but they still had the vibe.

Apparently, this place is pretty famous!
Celebrity autographs! :)

Gotta admit that they do have a pretty unique look...!!

Even their lights are supposed to be watermelons and pumpkins,
One of Korea's most popular vegetable and fruit.

We found something even cooler!
Half of their drink menus were made up of Korean rice wine,
and no wonder....
This place was where the ex-President Dae Joong Kim bought the rice wine
for a gift for Kim Jung Il during a visit to North Korea.
Since then, the name of the rice wine of this place changed to:
Reuniting Rice Wine
Looks like rice wine here is no ordinary drink...

So we decided to order some rice wine (Mak-kolli)
and the food that went well with it:

Pan-fried Kimchi

Kimchi Stew

and...

Dakbal (Chicken feet)

I know the last food Dakbal (chicken feet) may sound and look unappetizing,
but don't judge the food before you taste it...!
Trust me, I've been grossed out by this same food,
but now it's one of my favorite food :)

Here's finally the famous rice wine of this place!

Btw,
when people drink Korean rice wine,
they always eat something that looks like a pancake with the drink.
It's called "boochimgae", and it can be made with kimchi like I showed you above,
or it could be made with seafood and vegetables, too.

Well, here we go for a taste of reconciliation :)

Cheers!!!

P.S. this is probably one of the best places to see the older side of Korea for tourists!
Definitely a point of interest...

Bob Marley's Birthday Party Gets Hot in Korea

So Bob Marley's birthday party...
I think it's weird to see someone's birthday celebrated even when someone's dead, but
I still do think he deserves to be celebrated. I think he was a great singer-songwriter.
And... his birthday party was held in this bar.

Here's a close-up picture of the bar,
and apparently, the name of the bar is Redland Yuki.

They even hung some decorations up just for this event!

Just like any bars, this place had some darts, too.
Oh, how boring... just some ordinary bar with a dart that's not even exotic..

But wait, what are those things hung up on the ceiling?
Let's get a closer look...

Like...
Are those women's underwear...?

So, if the interior's not such a common view,
I can kind of guess their drinks are not going to be as common either, right?

...and my guess was right.
Just look at those... those names!!!

As perverted as the names may sound, it was as funny,
so we tried a couple of their drinks.

This one below is called "Sperm".
Is it just me or does this kind of remind of sperms...?

I don't know why the two drinks we ordered are related,
but this one below's called "Blow Job"

Both drinks were really sweet...
I mean sweet in terms of taste, not something else that may be weird... haha.

After a drink follows a little talent show!
And of course, people are calling Bob Marley songs :)

Actually, most people were actually really good at singing,
and it was a pretty good background music to escalate the atmosphere.
Everyone was having a good time,
and I think I had a picture of a comedian somewhere in the pictures here...
Let me know if you recognize him/her!!

Well,
if this looks like a good time to you, which it does to me,
then this happens every single year, so go ahead and get some... uhh...
sperms and blowjob drinks...
Haha...

A Korean Flower Shop Sells Drink, Too?!

As obvious as the title
the name of this place is:
Flower Shop That Sells Drinks (alcohol).
That's one very unique name...
Let's take a look at this place.

What seemed so tiny and humble from outside
isn't so tiny and humble inside...
I also found out this place is not a flower shop.
They just named it that way; there's no flower for sale.

What surprised me even more is how high the ceiling was.
Because Korea's so tiny, its buildings are mostly multiple-storied,
but this place made it more spacious and open-feeling instead of
putting another floor on top of it.

I mean... just look at how pen this place feels!

High ceilings made things look really open and spacious,
but it still managed to be cozy because of these personal little decorations and things.

Every little thing they had really blended in very well...!

...and I see a lady over there.
Maybe she's the waitress.
I should ask her about the picture policy before taking picures...

OR NOT.
She's just a mannequin...
Weird sense of humor...?

Anyway, back to their drinks, since this place is a bar.
Because of the name and the atmosphere, there were more women than men,
and because of this, they had so many different cocktails that women liked.
If you're not a cocktail kind of a person,
then just order soju, sake, or beer.

But since we did like cocktail,
we ordered mojito.
Just a basic mojito, but it looked so fresh!!
And look at that awesome shape of bottle...!

This comes out for free when you order a drink.
The black seaweed paper was seasoned with wasabi, and I loved it!!
The rest were just Korean crackers, but these are also my favorite :)
They're common, but they're crunchy and yummy!

Now, here came the salad that we ordered...
Aww, that looks so good...!

Okay, okay I'm starving.
Can we get started now?

Mmmm.....
No wonder mojito was one of their best-selling drinks!!!
If you like mojito,
you HAVE to come to this place!!!
