Light Up the World, Seoul!

All of the Lights
by
Kanye West
ft. Rihanna and Kid Cudi

Seoul Lantern Festival
in
Chong Gae Cheon

This happens every year.
It happens every night 6pm~11pm from the 4th to 20th of November.
You can go every day and any day you feel like.
It's a great place to hang out, and it's also a romantic place to take your date :)

Look at all the light.

Doesn't it look kind of warm in the picture because of the light?
It wasn't freezing cold, but it was a little chilly,
but looking at the lights made us feel warm and cozy.

Well,
The Seoul's representative mascot, Haechi says,

"Welcome to Chong Gae Cheon Lantern Festival!"

It was very energetic and entertaining.
There were small snacks sold everywhere so that you could eat it
while walking around watching the lights.
If you were tired of walking, or if you were going with elders,
you could get on a light carriage for an inexpensive price.

... and I see a kid nagging his mom to get him some of the snack
sold on the side walks.
But that's so not the point.
That kid's got a leash on his bag, which his mom's holding.
Puppy-like... haha
Everyone was watching and laughing.

Some pretty view along the way...

The picture right above shows what Korean
traditional wedding is like.
The one riding the horse in the very front is the groom.

While many were just mesmerized by the light structures,
some were busy actually making their own lanterns.
It was a booth where you could design your own and
even add some color to it.

Even the moon looks like one of the lights...

Nowadays, every other Koreans have these luxurious DSLR cameras(the ones with big-ass lenses that look like dragonfly's eyes that can zoom in and out), so this poor photographer standing next to the wall isn't selling out so well... :'(
Poor guy...

They even had these little amazing miniatures.
It looks so detailed and alive.
Like... their expressions almost gave them life!
It depicts the olden days of Korea very well.

There actually were fish in the water!!!!
I know I sound really stupid right now, but uhh...
I knew that Chong Gae Cheon had one of the cleanest water,
but I didn't know they actually had fish living in it.

What our armies looked like back then.
They look.... pretty.... hmmm...
But they sure do look brave.

That's our Nam Dae Moon(Our national treasure no.1!!!!! D':)
It burned down a few years ago.
People blame the security for not being strict enough.

Our traditional instruments.
It was pretty cool because they actually had
Korean traditional music playing from the speakers set up somewhere behind them.
It was actually really beautiful...

Warriors going to war!
Rahhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Shhhh... Peace... just chill out....

You know how life cannot last without light?
I mean... yeah, the "light" implies the light coming from the sun,
but I think these bright energetic lights kind of
shines away all the stress built up inside you.

Take in some light,
and get back on track :)

2NE1 Brings K-pop to the World

I saw an interesting piece of video clip of Will I AM from Black Eyed Peas and Nicki Minaj.

"Check It Out"
No, really, please do. It just happens to be the title of the song.

When I first watched this, it was when I was in a train going back home.
I noticed Nicki Minaj and Will I AM dancing with some letters popping up in the background.
I went closer to check out what language the letters in the background were,
and found out to my surprised that it was Hangeul (Korean alphabets).

'what the $#!t...?'

Hangeul was the last thing I ever even dreamed about seeing in a music video
made by Will I AM and Nicki Minaj.
I searched up the two singers on Youtube, and there came up the video.
It was a weirdest experience to see the Korean words all make sense.
There were some awkward spots, but they managed to make it look cool and original.

But which one of the singers wanted this not-even-well-known language of Korea in the
music video??
Nicki Minaj or Will I AM?

....

Looks like it's Will I AM

He mentions one Korean group singers called 2NE1.
The name is supposed to mean To Anyone and at the same time
represents 21st Century New Evolution.

I do agree with their names.
Just compare them with other girl groups in Korea and you'll see why.

Girls Generation (SNSD)

Wonder Girls

Kara

T-ara

2NE1

 You feel their charisma?
You can tell they're not all just about trying to be cute and sexy and attracting boys.

Frankly, I really don't think that they are pretty at all.
Look at all the other celebrities. They're so much prettier.
But
they've got better talent,
better passion,
and real love for music and dancing.
They dance and sing because they want to
not because they want male attention.
While other girl groups have about 70% male fans,
2NE1 has a roughly equal number of male and female fans :)

So...
let me introduce you the members :)

This is CL(born 1991), the leader of the group.
She speaks 4 languages fluently, and her father is a
professor in Korea's top 5 colleges.
She faced conflicts with her parents for wanting to be a singer,
but she did not give up and finally made her dream come true.

How she became a star is:
She sent several CD's she made to the entertainment company, YG (one of the top 3 entertainment companies in Korea), for 2 years,
but no response came back.
Frustrated of waiting around, she waited in front of the building until the morning
and gave the CD to the head of the entertainment company herself.
Gotta love her passion and energy...

This girl is Minji(born 1994).
Someone who doesn't even know her recorded her dancing performance in a small festival and sent it to the head of YG entertainment company.
They found her to ask her to join them.

This is Minji when she was really really young.
Young as in about 5th grade young.

This is Sandra Park (born 1984),
one of the prettiest Korean celebrities without ANY plastic surgery!
I mean... just look at her skin.
That's her without any makeup.

...and she turns out to have become a star in Philippines!!
She won the second place from the TV audition program in Philippines called "Star Circle Quest". It's like a Philippines version of an American Idol!

Even her brother is a celebrity.
One blessed siblings :)

... they both have like flawless skin.

Her beauty inside and outside is known well in Korea :)

Our last girl is Park Bom(born 1984).
She is probably one of the cutest and the energetic member of the group.
She has just as many female fans as male fans.
Fyi, her sister is one of the best cellist in Korea!

I think these two videos were from before her debut.
She's just... just you know... great...

So those were the 2NE1's lovely members...

Here are some of their videos!

This one's kind of funny how the fans "attempt" to copy them.....
I lolled.

With the help of Will I AM, I think they could go far...
Here's their recent music video with some help from Will I AM:

Your 4 Strongest Weapons

4 weapons... what could it be....

A sword, spear, arrow, and a gun?

... nahh... those are way too weak.

Here are your stronger, better 4 weapons.

1. Beans
2. Garlic
3. Sesame
4. Vinegar

These are the strongest weapons that will protect you from
Cold
Stroke/Seizure
Blood Clog
Alzheimer
Heart Attack
and ESPECIALLY Cancer

and various other diseases that are known to be incurable.
All these diseases are related to weak immune system of your body,
and these four weapons enhance your immunity.

Beans

60,000,000,000,000 cells make up our body.
Cells are mostly made up of proteins.
When we lack protein or have bad protein come in our body,
that's when we start getting sick.

Beans are high of protein in both quality and quantity,
and it prevents cancer this way by keeping the cells healthy.
I know it may seem insignificant to keep your cells healthy,
but one bad, ruined cell out of 60,000,000,000,000 cells is what starts the cancer.
Isn't that scary?

P.S. Sweet potatoes are also high in protein and other healthy minerals!

Garlic

I know there are many garlic haters out there because of its strong smell....
but this is the strongest weapon to fight cancer.
Much garlic goes into the Korea's representing food Kimchi.
If you like kimchi, go ahead and eat them because kimchi has not only garlic
but other healthy things go in them, which will improve your health.
If you don't like kimchi or raw garlic,
try eating garlic bread without putting too much butter.
Or roasted garlic is pretty famous in other countries as food toppings.
It doesn't taste spicy or smell bad when you roast them.

Sesame

It has an aromatic, clean taste,
and it's used in various kinds of Korean food as well as other countries' foods.
You can roll some sticky mochi in a pile of sesame
or even grind them into powders and drink it with milk.
It's healthy and delicious either way.

Black sesame milk is sold in markets now!

Vinegar

One of the most widely used food seasoning is vinegar.
It's a flavor enhancer and a cancer fighter!
While vinegar is used a lot in salad dressings,
Korea uses much vinegar in their food, too.
In noodles, kimchi, and other food that needs to be spicy-tart.

One person invented a vinegar drink...
It sounds so gross,
but it's actually really tart and fresh.
I didn't even know they were vinegar when I tried one of their drinks.
All you do is just pour some of these concentrated fruit vinegar in your cup of water,
and drink it and get healthyyyy :)

So remember!

Beans, garlic, sesame, and vinegar
=
cancer-free
